Publication Ethics: Investigations and Sanctions

If the Journal of Rescue and Relief (JORAR) becomes aware of a potential breach of its publication ethics policies, appropriate sanctions may include manuscript rejection, a temporary submission ban, or prohibition from serving as an editor or reviewer.

Investigations

Suspected breaches of publication or research ethics, before or after publication, should be reported to the journal. The identity of the person raising a concern will be kept confidential to the extent possible. JORAR may request underlying data or other relevant materials, consult editors or independent experts, and contact the authors' institutions when necessary.

Corrections and Retractions

JORAR will assess errors in published articles and determine the appropriate action. Errors may be corrected through a corrigendum (author-related errors) or erratum (publication-related errors). Where errors substantially affect the reliability of the results or conclusions, or where misconduct is identified, an Expression of Concern or retraction may be issued in accordance with JORAR policies and relevant publication ethics standards.

Authors will be given an opportunity to comment where appropriate. Corrections and retractions will be clearly linked to the original article.

Post-Publication Matters at JORAR

We respectfully invite authors, co-authors, reviewers, and readers to notify the Journal of Rescue and Relief (JORAR) of any concerns regarding published articles, including their layout, format, text, figures, tables, and, most importantly, the subject matter and content of any section of the manuscript, particularly the results, discussion, and conclusions.

Please email your concerns to jorarhelal-uast.ac.ir, using the DOI of the article as the subject of the email and, where possible, providing relevant details or supporting information.

The section editor of the published article will review the concerns and, where necessary, discuss them with the corresponding author and consult peer reviewers or other relevant experts. The outcome of the investigation will be considered by the Editor-in-Chief to determine the appropriate editorial action.

Depending on the nature and outcome of the investigation, the editorial action may include a private response to the person who raised the concern, publication of a note or short communication concerning the article, correction of part of the article with or without a public announcement, or, in very exceptional circumstances, retraction of the article.

The corresponding author will be informed of the outcome and the editorial action taken. Where appropriate, the matter may also be published in the Journal of Rescue & Relief for public notice.
